Living, working or studying abroad

Cross-cultural opportunities are becoming more appealing to a wider range of people. But you need timely and thorough information to make a smooth transition to another country, and to make your expatriate experience both pleasant and successful.

At Emigration Fair 2011 you’ll find everything you need to know about establishing your life in another country. If you’re an entrepreneur interested in setting up your own business abroad, or you’ve just been transferred here or to another country, or you’d like to emigrate from the Netherlands, or you’re a student* who would like to study abroad, Emigrate 2011 will take you through the entire process from start to finish.

In 2009, more than 115,000 Dutch citizens will move abroad – a number that is expected to increase exponentially over the next decade. Emigration Fair 2011 meets this increasing demand for information about emigration. Representatives from the Sociale Verzekeringsbank, the Dutch Tax Department (Belastingdienst) and over 60 related services will be on hand to help you with your decisions.

And if you’re one of the approximately 250,000 expatriates who have come to live in the Netherlands, the same resources are here for you, including a complete smorgasbord of clubs and activities for you and your family.

Probing the unknown

What are the possibilities within the EU, for example, for working, living or studying? How does one find a job in Canada (14 booths scheduled for the Fair!) or the United States? What are the relevant tax, work permit and residency laws in Australia or New Zealand? How does one deal with practical concerns such as insurance, mortgages and banking in a foreign country? And, of prime importance, how does one find a place to live ‘over there’… or here?

For country-specific information, jobs, financial advice, housing options and assistance, procedures regarding emigration and immigration, and reams of professional advice from over 170 industry and government representatives ready to assist you on more topics than you realized were pertinent – it’s all here at Emigrate 2011.

Register on-line now and save 5 Euro off the cost of admission!

*Students: Please note that recent changes in Study Financing legislation make it possible for MBO students in the Netherlands to take their funding assistance with them and apply it to study in foreign institutions of selected countries. Find out more at the Fair!
