Living and working abroad

The many charms - Emigration is at an all-time high

  • Emigrants - those looking for new opportunities abroad
  • Employees - those (all levels) who want to work in another country
  • Business migrants – to start up their own business abroad
  • Students wishing to study abroad
  • Those looking for a home or second home abroad

The Emigration sector of the Fair offers an international scope with a strong focus on popular emigrant countries such as Australia, Norway, New Zealand, Portugal, South Africa, the EU, Spain, USA, Belgium, Germany, Canada, USA and Sweden, the latter of which has some 70 exhibitors, and offers a unique opportunity for both permanent and seasonal foreign residents to meet, exchange ideas and receive professional advice and assistance.

What are the possibilities within the EU and around the world for working, living, setting up a business, studying and finding internships? What are the relevant tax, work permit and residency laws and requirements? How does one deal with cultural differences andpractical matters such as house hunting, insurance, banking and mortgages?

Expert advice is available from more than 180 market leaders on law, real estate, housing, employment, leisure, lifestyle and country-based information, including representatives from the Sociale Verzekeringsbank and the Dutch Tax Department (Belastingdienst). Together they form the most complete source of information on international mobility in Europe.

The study abroad sector involves approximately 33,072 Dutch students.
