– our county council in brief

Västernorrland is in the middle of Sweden and has about 250,000 residents and Landstinget Västernorrland is one of the largest employers in the county with about 7,000 employees. Most work in health care but there are also jobs in administration, economy, research, IT, education, culture, dental care, service and technology. Together, we strive to develop the region and health care and dental care services.

The county’s health care services

There are hospitals in Sundsvall, Sollefteå and Örnsköldsvik and about 20 health care centres around the county.

Our activities are dependent on well-educated employees in many different professions and we have extensive recruitment needs. Both now and in the future, the county council needs a large number of doctors, dentists, nurses, biomedicine analysts, psychologists and others.
