WORKING IN EUROPE – A WORLD OF OPPORTUNITIES

The Dutch are popular in Europe, and this is because of their knowledge of languages, as well as their entrepreneurship, flexibility and adaptability.

The expectation, therefore, is that more and more Dutch will settle in the various European countries in the coming years. One of the reasons for this is cheap travel, which means Dutch emigrants can easily get to other countries and cultures. The students of today are also internationally trained. They do various internships abroad and build an international social network via the internet (Facetime, WhatsApp, etc.). The step to live abroad is made easy as a result.

An increasing number of international companies are also facing labour shortages that cannot be solved locally due to an ageing population. Recruiting employees from abroad is therefore increasingly attractive. Finding a job through, for example, EURES (a network of employment offices within the EU) is becoming increasingly attractive. Due to the ageing population and migration to large cities, European regions are seeing a depletion of their populations in rural areas. They assist local companies recruit emigrants and make it possible for foreign entrepreneurs to take over or set up small-scale companies.
