The Anaesthesia & Intensive Care Clinic operates in both Växjö and Ljungby, encompassing departments in anaesthesia, intensive care, operation and sterile services. With a workforce of around 350 employees, we engage in a diverse range of activities within a technologically advanced setting. Our operations involve close collaboration with numerous other clinics and specialties, fostering a dynamic and interconnected healthcare environment.

The operations unit in Växjö boasts 12 operating rooms that cater to both day and inpatient surgical procedures. This includes vascular surgery, major abdominal surgery, orthopaedic prosthetic surgery, spinal surgery, gynaecological surgery, middle ear surgery, ENT endoscopies, as well as paediatric, dental, and maxillofacial surgeries. We also administer anaesthesia for our younger patients from 10 kg. Our emergency services for all patient categories are available round the clock.

Additionally, the hospital houses two extra operating rooms dedicated to endoscopic procedures and minor surgeries. Adjacent to the operating department, we have a six-bed intensive care unit along with three postoperative recovery wards. Obstetric care is a key component of our services, with approximately 2,100 deliveries per year. The hospital furthermore features a well-established R&D centre dedicated to research, development, and education.

Joining our team means joining at team 26 skilled physicians, with ample opportunities for professional growth. At Växjö Hospital, you'll find a diverse range of specialties and as a physician you'll participate in rapid response teams, trauma teams and respond to emergency calls, catering to both paediatric and adult patients. We prioritize flexibility, offering customized schedules tailored to your needs. Your responsibilities will also entail on-call duties, ensuring comprehensive patient care around the clock.

Qualifications:
Consultant / Specialist physician in Anaesthesia & Intensive Care Medicine. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and value highly the ability to work within a team.
