PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
Manages the delivery of customer contracts and internal research and development programs. Program Managers coordinate with Functional Area Managers including Hardware, Software, Software Test and DAO (Design Approval Organization) to provide resources necessary to deliver programs.
Technical skills:
• Aerospace domain and contracts experience
• Project management experience within the aerospace industry experience leading customer
• Knowledge of CRM systems
• Experience with ISO9001/AS9100 quality system.
HARDWARE and SYSTEMS ENGINEERING
Responsible for the execution of hardware and systems development of avionic equipment from concept through product end-of-life in accordance with the relevant RTCA standards.
Technical skills:
• Experience with System Engineering process and principles
• Design of analogue and digital circuitry
• Mechanical design of avionics grade enclosures
• New Product Introduction (NPI), design for manufacturability (DFM) and other relevant electronic hardware skills.
SOFTWARE and SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEERING
Responsible for Enterprise and Embedded software solutions. This includes requirements analysis and authoring, design/architecture, implementation, documentation, delivery, and maintenance of software running on our own avionics systems as well as Web-Based software.
Microcontroller/RTOS Focused Development Team
Specializes in the development and maintenance of software for microcontroller-based systems creating robust, real-time applications.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in C programming
• Knowledge of serial communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, RS422, and RS485)
• Experience with Iridium 9523 satellite modem
• Experience with Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) environment.
Microprocessor/Linux Focused Development Team
Integrates advanced connectivity and processing capabilities into our product, focussed on microprocessor-based systems, leveraging embedded Linux to build microservices.
Technical Skills:
• Expertise in embedded C and C++
• Experience with embedded Linux distributions
• Proficiency in implementing services utilizing network protocols and technologies
• Knowledge of data busses and interfaces like SPI, I2C, UART.
Enterprise/Web Development Team
Creates and maintains the software infrastructure that supports internal processes and external services handling the full spectrum of software development.
Technical Skills:
• Experience on frontend and backend development tasks. (JavaScript, Python, Java, C++, and C#)
• Database Skills
• Experience in creating and managing microservices (Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, RESTful APIs and SOAP)
• Knowledge in web development technologies and frameworks.
SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEERING
Responsible for evaluating software using automated or manual testing methods and analyzing the results.
Technical Skills:
• Agile and Scrum software development practices
• C++, Python, SQL, JavaScript
• Software testing methodologies
• Cloud-computing software
• Compliance software
• Automation tools.
DAO ENGINEERING
Responsible for tasks related to the installation and integration of SKYTRAC Systems products on customer aircraft. This team ensures all projects meet the regulatory airworthiness requirements and provide technical capabilities for the design approval holder. Types of projects include minor modifications to address aircraft installation issues to major changes to existing Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) to support new configurations and features, and development of new STCs for new aircraft types or new SKYTRAC products.
Technical Skills:
• Experience working on STC projects
• Knowledge of aerospace, mechanical or avionics & electrical principles
• Experience with TCCA and foreign aerospace regulation
• Knowledge of project and product lifecycle
• Current standing or able to become a provincially recognized professional engineer or technologist
